If the fallen dictator is rehabilitated, this country will become a playground for executioners: Rizvi

Those who have created a culture of abduction and murder for so long, if they are rehabilitated, then people will no longer be able to live in this country," commented Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary of the BNP. He said, "When some talk about rehabilitating a dictator, it sends a dangerous message to the public. If the fallen dictator is rehabilitated again, this country will become a playground for executioners. Here, democracy, freedom of speech, and expression will be buried forever."

Today, on Monday morning, during the distribution of awareness-raising leaflets on dengue prevention in the Elephant Road area of the capital, BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made these comments to journalists.

Rizvi criticized the continued appointments of police officials associated with the fallen dictator in various places. He said, "Those who had established a culture of abduction and murder, who had arrested democracy-loving people and kept them locked up for years, broken their arms and legs, and taken their lives—those police officials are being posted in Gulshan, Mirpur, and Azimpur… This cannot be allowed. If this is the objective of this interim government, then what will happen to the sacrifices of the students and the people?"

**Questions Regarding Foreign Secretary Appointment**

This BNP leader alleged that a controversial official has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He said, "An ambassador was in Qatar... If anyone's visa expired there, he would not renew it. He (the ambassador) would inquire about which party those people supported, as most expatriates in various Middle Eastern countries support the BNP. He harassed those people in various ways. I hear that this person has been made the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. So, who is the interim government rehabilitating? Those who have betrayed the people and disrespected the sacrifices and blood of martyrs?"

Rizvi raised the question of who is making the ambassador to Qatar the Foreign Secretary and addressed the Chief Advisor, saying, "We respect and honor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the head of the interim government. He must look into these matters. The trust the people have in him—he must ensure that this trust bears fruit. People are being appointed to important positions who have been lurking in various places. A government can have people from various backgrounds, but if those who support a fascist like Sheikh Hasina and actively participate in suppressing opposition parties are placed in significant positions, such as the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then this government will become questionable."

Since Sunday, the BNP has started distributing awareness leaflets on dengue prevention in various parts of the capital.
